Some artists pick a lane. Gord builds a road right where two of them meet. On his new album "Under Them Neon Lights", the singer-songwriter bridges modern and traditional country with an unapologetic hard rock edge, and the result is a record that sounds like nobody else.
Gord grew up in a small rural town where country music and hard rock lived side by side. He learned love songs on the acoustic guitar and rock anthems on the electric, and from those two worlds he forged his own style of sonic poetry.
His musical journey began early: hearing Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats as a kid inspired him to pick up the guitar, and he never put it down.
That dual heritage runs through every track on "Under Them Neon Lights". Drawing on influences as varied as Kris Kristofferson, Alan Jackson, Iron Maiden and Brian Setzer, Gord combines the storytelling of classic country with the energy and drive of rock.
The result is an album that feels both familiar and fresh: rooted in tradition, but not bound by it.
Written entirely by Gord, the songs cover the full range of human emotion: love and loneliness, hope and self-doubt, moments of realization, and the weight of death. It's an honest, personal record by an artist who writes what he has lived.
"The process of writing and recording these songs and diving deep into my past influences was a long and satisfying journey." – Gord
"Under Them Neon Lights" by Gord is out on November 6, 2026 on all major streaming platforms. Turn it up loud: this one was made for long drives and neon-lit nights.
