Rising out of Brooklyn’s East Flatbush with a story rooted in resilience, Freddy Rugga delivers his latest single, “Like Whoa” — a track that captures the spirit of growth, determination, and staying true to your path against all odds.
Born Levar Harrison, Freddy Rugga’s journey is deeply tied to the streets that shaped him. Raised during the height of the 80s and 90s in an area marked by gang activity and hardship, his upbringing around Parade Park Playground exposed him to realities that many only hear about. Those experiences now fuel a sound that is raw, authentic, and unapologetically real.
Music has been a passion for Rugga since childhood, and he’s remained hands-on with his craft, writing all of his own material. Drawing inspiration from legends like Biggie, Nas, and Michael Jackson, he blends lyrical depth with streetwise storytelling and undeniable presence.
“Like Whoa” continues the narrative Rugga has been building since his early days, including his 2006 mixtape Ruggatime Volume 1 and his debut EP Loyalty & Money in 2016. His music consistently reflects the mindset of someone pushing forward despite adversity — a theme fans have connected with across releases like his standout track “LIFE.”
With “Like Whoa,” Freddy Rugga reinforces his position as a voice of the streets for a new generation. His message is clear: no matter where you come from, growth is possible, and determination is everything.
